Shaker Historical Society

We inspire people to engage in and celebrate the Shaker Heights story and its impact on the region… past, present, and future.

Unfortunately this film series has been postponed - check back to our website for more details on when it will be rescheduled!

The Shaker Historical Society is pleased to present a Paul Newman Film Series, in celebration of this extraordinary resident of Shaker Heights. Newman became famous as an actor, then a sports car driver... and later in life as a generous philanthropist food producer making popcorn and salad dressings with proceeds going to charity. Thanks to J. Holden Gibbons who suggested this project, we are raising money to produce a statue of one of our famous residents and erect it in the new Van Aken District near Newman's father's old sporting goods store.

Edwin's REstaurant and Culinary Institute has agreed to contribute to our refreshments and movie fans can also expect the proverbial popcorn and soda.

We hope to discuss his films afterwards.

For those who are not comfortable with EventBrite, bring us a check and we will add you to the guest list. First come = first served in the Fellowship Hall of Plymouth Church on the last Thursday evening in July and the first two Thursdays in August (July 25, Aug 1, and Aug 8th).

    Do join us!
