The Shaker Historical Society is pleased to announce that it has created a new program for elementary schools to learn about the role of the architect, the materials used, the design and plan of buildings, and the history of Shaker Heights' architecture. The program includes a PowerPoint lecture followed by activities illustrating how buildings are put together, material suitability, reading architecture in plan and in person.
The museum welcomes other schools and groups that are interested in learning more about Shaker Heights architecture. Given the importance of the topic to this community, we are happy to tailor it for different ages and interests.
