Tudor City Gallery Talk

Join Tudor City Exhibit curator Dr. Ware Petznick for a in depth walk through of the Tudor Architecture in our wonderful community. Dr. Petznick will walk you through the details of our current exhibit "Tudor City" and highlight the history of the Tudors and how their architecture was interpreted in Shaker Heights.

Amber N. Ford's Lissauer Gallery Opening

Amber N. Ford's single show opens with a free wine and cheese reception in our Lissauer Gallery. Amber is a recent graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art and she brings us photographs you will not want to miss! THIS IS A FREE EVENT!

Paul Newman Film Series

Cool Hand Luke will be shown with a discussion to follow at Plymouth Church's Fellowship Hall. REception included with some hors d'oeuvres provided by Edwin's Restaurant and Culinary Institute! We also will have popcorn and other treats to help you celebrate one of Shaker Heights AND Cleveland Heights' own. This fundraiser will help erect a statue of Paul Newman near his father's old sporting goods store across from the new Van Aken District and will help support the educational programming of the Shaker Historical Society. $30pp ($25 for SHS Members). Children under 6 are free. Children 7-12 are $10. Special thanks to J. Holden Gibbons for bringing this project to the Shaker Historical Society!

Free to 2019 SHS Members. Reception plus the opportunity to see the latest exhibit before it officially opens August 1st! Please RSVP by emailing officemanager@shakerhistory.org. If you haven't shown your support for the Shaker Historical Society yet as a member in 2019, you can still join and come to our party. Go to www.shakerhistory.org/become-a-member to join or pop by the museum with a check. Whatever works best for you.

Shaker Dig Camp 5

This camp is a great experience for kids aged 5-9th grade. Campers will work side by side with an archaeologist on the Shaker Dig! Join

Archaeologist Beth Hoag of Cuyahoga Community College, Master teacher Rosemary Nemeth and museum director Dr Ware Petznick to learn about the wonders of digging into the past. Students will be immersed in the history of the Shakers in this amazing week!  We also extend our gratitude to the cooperation of the City of Shaker Heights and the Historic Landmark Commission for permission to dig on the site.
